Activator Technique

Activator Instrument
With Activator Technique the chiropractor uses a handheld instrument to deliver the treatment at the site of the pain or problem. Activator technique does not involve any rotation of the spine, so it is safe for individuals with disc injuries and is generally considered to be gentle. Dr. Jameson gravitates more towards other techniques unless Activator is requested by the patient.
Diversified Technique
Diversified is the most commonly used chiropractic technique characterized by a high velocity low amplitude thrust.
Dr. Jameson applies a controlled force to restricted joints with a benefit of restoring joint motion, resulting in reduction of pain and muscle tension.
This technique is where the “pop” sound has become associated with chiropractic care for pain relief.
Flexion Distraction Technique
Flexion Distraction utilizes a special table that helps the chiropractor to treat low back injuries, back pain, sciatica, herniated disc, and leg pain. This gentle and safe treatment helps to restore mobility to the lumbar spine, decrease disc pressure, decrease pressure on nerves, improve posture, and relieve back pain. Flexion Distraction Technique feels amazing and does not involve any quick movements or “pop” noises.
Extremity Adjustments
The human body has many joints that are not in the spine. These joints can become fixated (especially with sports injuries) and therefore need chiropractic care to relieve pain! Extremities include: the ankles, feet, knees, shoulders, elbows, wrists and hands. All of these areas can experience pain relief with chiropractic care and adjustments. Extremity adjustments tend to feel more like a gentle massage or stretching but occasionally a small pop noise may be heard if the joint has been fixated for a long period of time.
Intersegmental Traction Table (Roller Table)
Our patients and staff always look forward to their time on the roller table. This table gives a relaxing back massage which helps to reduce muscle spasms, gently stretches the muscles and ligaments and helps to restore motion to the joints in the spine.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is another modality offered in our chiropractic office. Much like bones; our muscles, ligaments, and tendons can also become fatigued, stressed, and injured, causing pain and discomfort.
A relaxing massage is a great complement to chiropractic care and is a great way to relieve the tension from your muscles. Our massage therapists are kind, caring, skilled and intuitive. You are in good hands!
Dr. Jameson got his start in the healthcare field as a massage therapist. He uses this experience in selecting the best massage therapists to help you relax, feel better, and to help you manage your pain.
Posture Correction
Chiropractors are known for treating pain, but if you seek something more than just treating symptoms; consider taking a more pro-active approach and improving your posture.
As a Certified Posture Specialist, Dr. Jameson will design a safe and effective exercise and stretching program specific to your body. Performing these exercises under his supervision will ensure that you are doing them correctly. Over time, this will lead to decreased pain, improved posture, better flexibility, and prevention of future injuries.
Abnormal posture can create many problems over the long term. These include:
- Permanent stretching of ligaments
- Disc injuries, including herniated disc
- Arthritis
- Muscular imbalances
- Decreased range of motion
- Chronic pain
- Headaches
- Numbness
- Tingling
- Recent studies have even linked abnormal posture to increased fatigue and decreased mood!
Sacral Occipital Technique
Sacral Occipital Technique is a gentle chiropractic technique focused mainly on the soft tissues which stabilize the body.
With this technique the chiropractor uses a variety of gentle modalities to balance the frame. These modalities include soft tissue manipulation, stretching, and pelvic blocks (pictured). The pelvic blocks are used like a shim to stretch the ligaments of the pelvis. (adapted from sorsi.com)
